Journey Home

In celebration of National Aboriginal Day, please join us for a film screening of The Long Journey Home

The Long Journey Home documents the journey of nine women from Webequie First Nation, an isolated community in Northwestern Ontario, who return to their residential school in Moose Factory on James Bay. The journey was a way of continuing the healing of the emotional wounds left by their separation from family as very young children, a loss of identity and physical and sexual abuse. The Long Journey Home was co-produced by Sam Achneepineskum, the Residential School Coordinator for Nishnawbe-Aski Nation.
