Poem by Martin Hicks

YEARLY RETURNS

A bluster changed into a blast
A bluster changed into a blast
As winter whitely hit face fast
Fast fast.

A bitter wind assailed in Spring
A bitter wind assailed in Spring
Its better verdant green to bring
Bring bring.

A muggy summer struck as heat
A muggy summer struck as heat
With ruthless and incessant beat
Beat beat.

A chill Fall rain assaulted door
A chill Fall rain assaulted door
On full array laid on downpour.

Sum four.

-Martin Hicks
