A Long Good-bye

The Bookshelf, the indie bookstore at May and Miles. whose closing was announced last April, has finally made if official.  It will close, alas, today on April 30 after being in business 14 years. In today's Chronicle Journal, the owner, Gerald Blanchette says he will miss the conversations with his customers.  Blanchette also said that young people are not reading as much or using e readers. The corner of May and Miles will never be the same.
