Free Workshop: The Art of Writing For Childen.

Dear Joan.

NOWW will be offering a free workshop entitled “The Art of Writing for Children.”

Jean E. Pendziwol, an award winning children’s author who draws inspiration from the rich history, geography and culture of Northwestern Ontario will lead the workshop.

Her first published book for children, No Dragons for Tea: Fire Safety for Kids (and Dragons), is an all-time best seller for Kids Can Press, inspiring a series of safety themed stories popular with educators and parents alike.

Her most recent book, Once Upon a Northern Night (illus. Isabelle Arsenault, Groundwood Books) was shortlisted for a Governor General’s Literary Award (2013), the TD Book of the Year (2014), and the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Award. Publishers around the world have picked up her books and foreign rights range from Japan and Indonesia to Turkey and Great Britain.

Her newest book, Me and You and the Red Canoe is scheduled for publication in 2017.
The workshop takes place on November 17, 2015 at Waverley Library at 7 pm. NB Please note the venue. It is Waverely and not Brodie as appeared on a few posters!!!
