Spring Poem
Louise Grinstead kindly sent me this lovely poem by her mother.
Spring Poem 2019
I wish, I wish.
Oh, if I only could
wake up all the tiny buds, the eyes of spring
- and send old winter off to sleep again.
Alas, I wish in vain.
But wait my soul
embrace this pulse of longing for sweet face of spring
and all her beauty hidden still in snow
this is your strength – your power
newborn in snow
waiting
longing
longing and singing and weeping
for spring.
