Once again the local haiku contest which attracts international attention.
The Thunder Bay International Fine Arts
Association and the Lakehead Japanese Cultural Association take great
pride in presenting a second HAIKU contest
$300 in Prizes! Anyone other than people involved in the administration of the
contest or judging may enter. Entries must be the sole, original, unpublished
work of the contestant in English.
Attend the launch April 16th, 8 pm.

HAIKU RULES
TBIFAA HAIKU CONTEST SUMMER 2012
Deadline for Entries: Monday, July 23, 2012
Award Night: Monday, August 6, 2012
Eligibility: The contest is open to anyone in Canada and internationally.
Members of the TBIFAA Haiku Committee and families or TBIFAA Executive
and their families are ineligible to enter.
Regulations: Haiku are to be original, unpublished work in English by the
author submitting. Published is defined as an appearance in a printed or
electronic book, magazine or journal.
Haiku will be defined as a short, three line form of poetry, preferably with five
syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line and five syllables in
the third line. This is not a hard and fast rule, but the poem must not be more
than seventeen (17) syllables.
If submitting more than one entry, please use a separate form for each.
Entry Fee: $10.00 in Canadian funds per haiku. For $25 you can have
membership in TBIFAA plus two (2) entries.
Please submit entries and fees in the form of a money order, traveller’s cheque,
or personal cheque to:
