Megwetch, a poem by Ma-nee Chacaby
Thank you Great Spirit for the gift of life you sent my way.
She's there from the root of the palm as she stands to welcome me with her branches an whispers kind gentle words in my ears.
She pounds the heart of my soul as I rise from the root of my feet,
To catch the wind of her swaying body as she moves to let me know I'm loved.
Yes, indeed, I'm loved as I love her.
Thank you for giving me the gift of love forever
I will cherish her the kind gentle person that she is.
